Both educational and cultural promotion to European women from AFAD Manisa Provincial Directorate

Manisa Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate (AFAD) participated in the training events organized in Kozani, Greece, within the scope of Erasmus+ KA210 "Women's Empowerment in Natural and Human-Made Disasters Project".

Grant by the Turkish National Agency The training and implementation activities of the project were carried out by Manisa Provincial AFAD Director Osman Pıhtılı and his accompanying team between 12-17 June 2024. In addition to the Manisa Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate team, representatives from the non-governmental organizations Extramus from Italy and Inspira Juventude from Portugal attended the events hosted by the non-governmental organization Go Alive operating in Greece.
Within the scope of the events, Manisa Provincial AFAD Directorate provided Disaster Awareness Training and Fire Awareness Training with non-formal training techniques to 16 project stakeholders and 20 volunteer women from non-governmental organizations operating in the city of Kozani. Fire extinguishing practices were also carried out during the training.

Cultural sharing attracted attention
The fourth day of the event continued with a special program organized to introduce Turkish traditions and customs, as it coincided with the Eve of Eid al-Adha. Henna was applied to the hands of all female participants, the preparations for the Eve of Eve were explained, and holiday candy brought from Turkey was offered. These cultural events also found wide coverage in the Greek press.
It was learned that the project will continue with activities to be held in Italy in October. Source: İHA
